Many larger utilities and camper vans require this LR Licence as well as small trucks. It licences you to drive a motor vehicle over four points five tons up to eight tons Gross Vehicle Mass (no axle limit). The Vehicle may also carry more than twelve passengers including the driver.
- A bus or truck (including a prime mover or a mobile crane) more than 4.5 t GVM but not more than 8t GVM.
- A specially constructed vehicle, including a tractor (more than 4.5t GVM but not more than 8t GVM.
- You need a class light rigid licence to drive a bus less than 4.5 t GVM which is built or fitted to carry more than 12 adults (including the driver).
Note: You may also tow a trailer with a maximum weight of 9t GVM with this class.
To apply for your Light Rigid class licence, you must:
- Must have held a class C for at least one year.
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Provide primary proof of identification prior to course commencement.
- Be able to drive a car with a manual transmission.
