Many larger utilities and commercial trucks require this Heavy Rigid Licence, as well as buses and rigid vehicles. It licenses you to drive a motor vehicle over four point five tons with more than two axles. The vehicle may also carry more than twelve passengers including the driver.
You need a class heavy rigid licence to drive a bus over 4.5 t GVM which is built or fitted to carry more than 12 adults (including the driver).
Note: You may also tow a trailer with a maximum weight of 9t GVM with this class.
