Light Rigid vehicle is a truck, bus, prime mover, tractor or a mobile crane with GVM greater than 4.5 ton but equal to or less than 8 ton GVM, with or without a trailer with a maximum weight of 9 ton GVM. Vehicle seating more then 12 adults is light rigid.
A Medium Rigid vehicle includes a truck, bus, prime mover, tractor, or mobile crane over 8-ton GVM with no more than 2 axles. It may have a trailer, provided the trailer does not exceed 9-ton GVM. MR licence allows driving such vehicles for commercial or personal use.
Heavy Rigid vehicle is a truck, bus (Articulated bus), prime mover, tractor or mobile crane over 8-ton GVM with more than 2 axles, with or without a trailer not exceeding 9-ton GVM. Articulated bus: A bus designed to bend in the middle for better manoeuvrability.
Heavy Combination vehicle is a truck, prime mover, tractor or a mobile crane over 8-ton GVM With more than 2 axles, With a trailer of more than 9-ton GVM. Prime mover over 8 ton GVM with a single trailer over 9-ton GVM with more than 2 axles.
